Hey everyone - just wanted to get some feedback. Had the steering rack changed a few months ago and was having some issues with the Active handling/brakes would lock on certain angled turns. No codes back then. Recently started to drive it more often and just added a diablosport tuner today. As soon as I started driving today, the following codes popped: C1226; C1283; and B2605. No idea what the deal is with the B2605 - the seat seems to work fine and all. But the other two seem to be related to the wheel speed sensor and SWPS and/or Yaw sensor. Given that both of these are popping at the same time - would that cause you to lean towards a certain diagnostic/fix? After the steering rack was swapped, I did notice that the wheel is slightly off center to the right. I have a shop nearby that I plan to take it to but was curious if I could help give them some direction. Frankly I was just driving before these codes popped with traction control off because I didn't want to deal with the hassle of bringing it in and I don't really push it too hard.
If you are taking it to a shop THEY should know how to diagnose this !!…if not find a shop that knows how to diagnose cars and not shotgun parts…so if I diagnose it for them are they going to pay ME ???…I’m at $125.00 an hour diagnostic fee.
Since the steering rack was replaced more than likely the speed sensor is getting the wrong input voltage and is throwing the code. Happened to me 20 years ago when I was aligning the car. If it is 97-00 you can test it by testing the light blue voltage at the Speed sensor with a VOM or use a Tech 2 or similar bi-directional scan tool. On the 01-04 cars use the scan tool and find the blue wire (there are two I believe) and it will tell you the voltage value. Mine showed 4.8V when it should have bee 2.5V. Disconnect the steering coupler at the engine block and rotate it sill you have the 2.5V

Quick update here - took it in and shop hooked up the Tech II. All the readings were good and the car passed the rack relearn procedure. Codes wouldn't even pop up in the Tech II even though on the way there the two codes were on. Swapped the RF wheel sensor wiring as the folks said that many times this causes issues. Drove home 30 miles and have taken it out two more times today and it seems like all is good. Knocking on wood.
