Question for those with Corsa Indys... x-pipe recommendation
Decided on the Corsa Indys, but need advice on the x-pipe. How much popping on decel can I expect w/o one? Will the x-pipe eliminate it? Which x-pipe would you recommend? Thanks.
Re: Question for those with Corsa Indys... x-pipe recommendation (Snake Slayer)
I have the magnaflo xpipe and I get some popping but that is with headers and a stage II heads and cam. With Corsa touring I had hardly any popping.
Re: Question for those with Corsa Indys... x-pipe recommendation (RogueC5)
I put on Indy's as my first mod...LOT'SA POPPING. With an X Pipe, that is almost gone. The exhaust sound also changed due to the blending of the dual exhausts. Not softer or louder, just different. I like it. Still sounds good with long tube headers and heads/cam, just louder.
Re: Question for those with Corsa Indys... x-pipe recommendation (RogueC5)
I installed my Corsa Indy's and heard lots of popping and burbling. Sooooo...I installed the Corsa x-pipe. And still had lot's of popping and burbling, etc. Sooooo...I just live with it. No improvement with the $300 (installed cost) for the x-pipe.
I've just installed SLP headers and the popping and burbling is still there but now it is a deeper tone that I like. Once again, I just live with the popping and burbling - I don't particularly care for it, but you learn to live with it.
Re: Question for those with Corsa Indys... x-pipe recommendation (RogueC5)
I bought a used Bassani X-pipe from a fellow CF buddy who was upgrading to FLP headers and got a great deal. So I really can't say which X-pipe is better. But I doubt you'll go wrong with Corsa's. As far as reducing the popping/snapping etc. At first the system really sounded TAME almost like the Tourings. Then after I started adding miles most of the popping/snapping returned. There's no way to measure or know but I'd guess a slight reduction than without the X-pipe. While most everyone liked my Indy's as they were before I installed the X-pipe, some commented that they don't sound as aggressive. I didn't have the "motor boat" sound come complain about and many said it sound like a 60's muscle car. After the X-pipe it sounds good but a little more mellow.
Re: Question for those with Corsa Indys... x-pipe recommendation (RogueC5)
I tried the Corsa's on my 02 first w/o the X-pipe and was sorely disappointed sounded like a motorboat and popped on decel like mad --Now some folks here on the forum LIKE that sound I do not. Went back and had the corsa x-installed and I am now a happy camper. Each to his own --hope this helps you decide! :D
Re: Question for those with Corsa Indys... x-pipe recommendation (Snake Slayer)
I went with the Corsa X-pipe from the get go. The sound is very clean no popping. I would say go with Corsa X-Pipe
I receive nothing but compliments on the sound. Not too loud at idle, but killer when I nail it. Young guys in their M3's and AMG's pull up next to me and beg me to tellthem what's under the hood cause the sound is "killer".
Re: Question for those with Corsa Indys... x-pipe recommendation (RogueC5)
I've got the Corsa X-pipe to go with my Indy's. I installed them together, so I can't comment on what they would have sounded like without the X-pipe. Overall I like the sound, but I guess I wish it had a little more bite to it...a little too tame for me. I don't notice any popping at all...then again, I was used to the Borlas I had on my 1995 Z28...they were pretty loud with plenty of popping...I loved it though. I'm sure you'll be happy with them. Good luck with your ride!
