C5 headlight headache
As the title indicates I’m having some issues with the pop up headlights. Specifically my driver side. My passenger side will go up and down flawlessly. Sometimes I will have to turn the manual **** on the driver side in order for the headlight to open/close. So I thought this meant the gear in the motor was bad. So I went to replace it with a bronze gear kit only to figure out it already had a bronze gear in it. I replaced it anyway, put everything back together and still the same issue. It will close/open a couple times and then it will get stuck either up or down after the 2nd or 3rd operation.

The headlights are a pain to troubleshoot. The issue may reside with the gears, stops, the multi-function switch, fuse, connectors or the controller on the passenger side behind the bumper. If the headlight lights up but doesn’t operate (move up or down) and there isn’t any noise from the motor, then I suspect that it “points” to the controller - either a bad contact or bad unit.
