The past few months have been an ongoing battle with my car and I need help. There is an intermittent issue while I’m driving. Suddenly the car goes into reduced power and every light comes on as well as the temp gauge at max, oil pressure and fuel level at 0. When I pull over to turn the car off and back on it goes away. Sometimes it doesn’t happen at all and sometimes up to 3 occurrences in my 40 minute drive to work. I’m lost on what could be the issue. Unplugged the battery for 25 minutes and plugged it back in “solved” the problem for about a week. There also seems to be an issue where the passenger door won’t lock and the window switch won’t function which could possible be related. Any recommendations?
The window and door lock issue could be the wires running from the body to door. Next time it happens wiggle the wire look around and see if it fixes those issues.
Next time it happens try pulling over, leave car running, open driver's door and shake the wire bundle inside the accordian rather vigorously.
The symptoms you describe are similar to those that happen when the door module loses power or ground.
Long term fix might be remove the door panel and re-pin any questionable wires in the door module connector or possibly clean a ground connector at the frame.
