Just got my EBCM module back from ABSFixer. They've done some work to it, but now im getting a No Comm error.
2001 Corvette C5
ABS and Traction flashes on Key on, then goes out. DIC says "Service vehicle soon"
Was advised to check can-bus, which is supposed to be the brown wire?
Im looking for advice on how to do this diagnostics.
Prior to sending the unit in I checked and have got battery voltage between positive and ground on connector. Chassie Grounds are refreshed.
Also getting a P1571 but I assume that's because of the no com error from the EBCM
C5’s don’t have the “CAN bus” but the older GM Class 2 Serial Data Bus so whoever told you that doesn’t know what they are talking about…for ANY module “no comm” you first want to check that modules power and grounds and in the case of a 2001 there are 2 power (battery and ignition feed) and 2 grounds…best to check with a bulb that carries a few amps…the serial data wire is light blue and I would check that the light blue wire has continuity between the EBCM (Terminal 21) and Star Connector 2…also remove the buss bar from Star Connector 2 and make sure the “comb” (buss bar) is clean…you can use sandpaper and reinstall…if powers, grounds, and data bus are good the module is bad…also check the connector for pin fitment…if there are loose connections you will have issues…what do you mean by chassis grounds were “refreshed” ??…if you mean cleaning and the ground wire were broken all the cleaning in the world won’t fix it !!
Thank you C5 Diag! Great answers like always.
I will check this out tomorrow.
Since ABSFixer managed to check the module, could it really be dead?
Yes, grounds cleaned.
Have battery voltage between Battery / ignition feed (ignition voltage 3), and both grounds on connector.
Will check blue wire between EBCM T21 and Star connector 2.
Thank you!

Cleaning a ground is not checking it…you need to connect a bulb that draws a few amps and connect one lead to B+ and the other lead to each ground…if the ground is good the bulb will be bright…do the same with both power leads…just because you have “voltage” at both power feeds doesn’t tell you anything…has to carry current.

Sorry but I missed that the connector had 2 grounds from the beginning. The second ground (G111) was broken under battery tray. Fixed that and that fixed my NO COMM issue. All good now, no codes nor warnings. Thank you!

Multiple codes before the NO Comm error, and was advised they could fix the previous codes, and they did a good job. The No comm issue just happened, as luck would have it...
