Default 2003 C5 Headlight Issue

I have a 2003 C5 and my current issue is one of my headlights is acting weird. It pops up and goes down just fine in warm weather, but when the weather starts getting cold, it will sometimes stick up or down while the other side headlight works just fine. Wondering if you could tell me what I should look at first with this. Is it likely the headlight motor that I need to replace or could it be something else I’m not thinking about. Appreciate any advice you can share with me - thanks!

Have you replaced the internal plastic gear with a brass one?

Not yet. The gear is not making the noise they do when they fail and like I said, the light still operates in warm weather, so not sure what to make of that?

Well, there is a control module which controls the operation of the headlight motors. There maybe a corroded, loose or dirty connection there. Difficult to get to. It is on the passenger side below the headlight assembly. Before I would start replacing things, I would clean those connections.

Thanks for the advice Road Runner. I will give that a try and see if that might be the issue. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
