Default Oil leak?! From where?!

Was swapping my ignition switch and found these leaks. Anyone have an idea as to where theyre coming from? Im assuming an oil leak from the oil pressure sensor, but I havent had any problems with it.

No engine oil leak to the interior, no oil passes inside the car.
Something else is going on.

It could be a leak of a sealant applied before you bought the car, but like already stated, it's been years since actual oil pressure gauges were used.

Is it possible that a previous owner had an aftermarket oil pressure gauge installed for some reason?

You're going to have to trace it back. The pedal area could be a master cylinder leak. But if this is confirmed to all be oil then the post above about a prior oil pressure gauge may be correct if they routed a hose in through the master cylinder seal and up to the dash.

This is an odd one. Keep us posted. Getting the center radio dash panel off is pretty easy. As is the knee bolster. The rest is a good flashlight and possibly a flexible spine.

Default Looks like you’ve got an oil leak up top.

The most common culprit in that area on a LS is the oil pressure sensor or the little filter screen under it. They can seep even if the gauge reads fine. Also check the valley cover and the rear of the intake—both can mist oil and make it look like it’s coming from the sensor. Give the area a good clean, run the car, and see where it starts getting wet again.

While valid, none of that would result in oil inside the upper dash. This one is a curiosity.

odd, Given it is an auto, brake master cylinder is the only thing that comes to mind around the column area. I had a clutch master leak into the footwell on my C4.

I can't think of anything that could be under the radio / around the shifter maybe the prior owner applied some sealant from a dash removal for a heater core or a cleaner leaked into there, really not sure.

Wipe it down and see if it comes back. Keep an eye on various fluid levels.

Was the cowl cut for an oil pressure sensor change?
