So I’ve never had issues with the windows in my car. Took it to run errands today. Windows went day fine like normal. Went to roll them up and the driver window will only go half up. Tried multiple times. Gets to a certain point the. Stops. If I press the button I can hear a click but I can’t tell if it’s the motor or just the switch. I can’t even pull the glass up. Before I take the panel off any ideas or help would be appreciated. I’ve seen tons of stuff about windows not working but it’s mostly
they won’t go up or down all the way.
try this and see if it helps, open the door and grab the accordion tube (between door and A pillar) that the door module wires run through. Squeeze it and push it a bit, then shut the door and try the window again. There is a known issue with the serial line in that accordion tube and that might be your issue. Mine went down and wouldn't come back up. Did this trick and it worked. If this works for you, there is a thread about it with a lot of info. That same line can also cause your gauges to go wacky and stop working in addition to the window impacts.
Mine did just the opposite. It closed OK, just wouldn’t go down all the way. Stuck about 1/2 way down. Bad Regulator. Cable tension went slack and the cable was getting tangled up in the motor drum. Ordered a new one but have to send it back after trying to install it.
I should have specified AMERICAN Driver side NOT Australian Driver side.
Thank you for the ideas. I’d wiggled the wires before because at one point I wasn’t getting power to the switch so I’ll deff try. I’ll take the panel back off wed and look around.
Well I got the driver door panel off today. I could see the cable was off the bottom left little green pulley. I tried everything I can think of and just could get enough slack in the cable to get it back on. This leads me to believe something is wrong inside the middle part where the cable spools. Guess it’s time to watch those videos on how to replace the regulator assemblies.
Yep,, that cable oftentimes gets twisted and never works properly again. Watch some videos,, its fairly easy to accomplish. My experience,,, cheep imported units work the same as US made. If one side failed,, the other side is about to "leave the chat"soon.

yeah I bought a cheap one on Amazon that will be here Monday. Funny enough when I bought the car the guy gave me a bunch of parts and a passenger side regulator and motor was one of them. Looks to be in good condition.
I checked locally and places only had the Dorman one and it was $171.
