First of all thank you all for allowing me to become a member. Question my left front running light does not work when car is running right side does but when you turn on lights from inside they work just need some true guidance to solve issue thank you for all support and suggestions
Start with the obvious. Does the plug have power when the car is running? Have you downloaded the service manual? Have you looked at the wiring diagram to see where power and ground are coming from?
Your bulb sockets need cleaning and/or replacement. This may not be the cause of your entire situation, but the heat bulbs produce will eventually melt a hole in the fixture itself, and wreak havoc on the sockets, as well. They could probably use some attention at least 20 years on, regardless. This problem originated when, after the dies were all completed for the plastic housings, then GM changed to a larger, hotter bulb WITHOUT changing the fixture. DADS2K makes some good points. Hopefully, you don't need a new multifunction switch, as they are no longer made, and you may need to send yours in to a company who rebuilds them, if you can't fix it yourself. I can't remember their name. But the info is out there......
It doesn't work when the car is just started without turning the lights on.
It does work when you turn the lights on.
Also, the signal works correctly.
If yes, I would check the DRL relay. If no to above statements then describe your problem better.
