[QUOTE=Bills03Coupe;1609436847]When doing the ranger method should you drive first to warm up the fluid? Also, will a 32 oz. bottle be sufficient?[/QUO
No you don't, and yes Follow manual what dot rating to use. I just use plan old 3 dot but some use 4.
For a C5 Corvette (1997-2004), either DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid is compatible with the hydraulic clutch system, although the factory recommendation is DOT 3Corvette Central,. Many owners upgrade to DOT 4 for its higher boiling point, which provides better resistance to heat, especially if the car is driven hard.
Don't waste your time with the Ranger method. I would go this route before the Ranger method if not bleeding at the slave. All the Ranger method does is cycle fluid around the master, and a minimal amount of fluid back and forth from the start of the line - it's not doing much of anything to get down to the slave where you need to bleed the entire line.
