Hello! I have a set of nice GMR paladin wheels on my c5 corvette that are specced to be flush with the fender on a narrow body c5. I plan on doing a 2 inch wide body fender on the rears and would like to keep my current wheels. What size spacer would I need to have the rears be flush with the new fenders? From my understanding they would be nearly 50mm? Is that even safe to run (I’d ofc run hubcentric spacers)? I mainly daily the car (with a heavy foot) and occasionally canyon carve as well. Thank you everyone!
Well, 2 inches is about 50mm, so I guess that would be the spacers needed.
My question is, if you are keeping the narrow body wheels, then why do the fender flares???
Seems counterintuitive.
And, I have 20mm spacers on mine for my C6 wheels, and I run pretty hard with them, but I would not do any racing with them.

The wide body look a grown on me a lot recently. And what I’m just now realizing is could also just trade the wheels for something that has the correct offset…
If you're going with the wide body flares, then go with wider wheels/tires to match with the correct offset, don't keep the same size wheels/tires you have now, would be a waste.
Running 2" wide/thick wheel spacers will add considerable unsprung weight, the least desirable kind of weight, to your car. I agree with the post about keeping the wheels you have now being counterintuitive. People usually add wider wheels and tires when going to the widebody. Wider wheels and tires will also add unsprung weight, but at least you get the wider contact patch.....
