Default Help! Headlights intermittently won’t go up and down.

Hi all

2000 with 65k. My headlight motors were rebuilt about 14 months ago and brass gears put in. Work fine. Last night went to put headlights on using column switch and they wouldn’t pop up. Tried 2-3 more times then they went up. Shut off car last night. Got in car this morning. Tried lights… no pop up. Tried again a minute later they pop up.

Note: the lights work all around. Even when they don’t pop up the lights are on under the bumper and work so I take it the column switch is ok? I went through a car wash 2 days before and didn’t drive car at night maybe something got wet or coincidence.

Went to fuse box. All good. I saw the headlight power module under passenger light and see wires but how is it removed? I saw no screws. Does it just pop out without taking the headlight out?
Narrowed it down to the module or the column stalk switch. I noticed when they don’t operate the twilight doesn’t work either. Sounds like the module? Any help appreciated!!
peace.

Most likely the headlight control module, might have gotten water in the connector, can't help much with pulling the module as I have never had to deal with it. Hopefully somebody who has dealt with this situation will reply. Good luck.

Thanks man. Yea it does sound like the module as I found out no relays. I think the headlight motor has to come out to get to the 2 screws holding it in. Was waiting to see if anyone’s done it without removing headlight motor or getting under car. I don’t have a lift access. Thanks!

Did a search, most people lift the car and remove a panel to get at the module.

The headlight module is located below the right headlight .
When you removed the right headlight you will see the module
If you inspect the module it may be look like the module on last photo where moisture got into the module

How did you determine it is the module? Did you already evaluate the 12v inputs and ground at C1 of the headlamp door control module?
