i had just gotten my torque tube out and upon inspection the only thing i noticed was noise from both the bearings at a point in their rotation, can i just lube them and send it or do i have to replace?, also what do i use to clean everything down before reallembly, brakeclean? does anyhting have to be lubed? trans imput shaft to tt plastic thing in the middle hub bearing makes some noise imput shaft coupler
Too funny! I just pulled my torque tube today (grinding noise from a dead stop) and my prop shaft looks like yours! I was told earlier (before pulling it out) that it needs to be pretty smooth... I guess we'll see what the experts have to say about yours as well as mine!
From what I can see, yours looks pretty good, BUT since you have it out, I'm sure that you're going to hear "preventive maint". Change out the consumables while its apart.
Bearings are sealed so can't be lubed internally (normally). If you decide to replace them you will need a press unless you can rig something up. Get the replacement o-rings and just like I said in JDM767 the allen bolts are worth it if you take the torx bolts out. If you take the hub apart, just replace the bearings you'll see why unless you have a lot of press accessories on hand.
