C5 Speedometer drops when warmed up
Hello all, it’s been some time since I have been on the site since selling c6 Z06. I’m looking to get back into another Vette and had looked at a 99 C5 back before winter. The person selling it took me on a test drive, and I realized a few miles in after car was warmed up that the speed dropped out on the cluster. I couldn’t exactly see but he had said the HUD still operated as normal and that it needed a VSS that’s on the diff. I’ve done a little searching on here and came up with things like PCM,VSS but none with the exact (only does it once warmed up) situation. I do not own the car so I have no codes but wanted to revisit the option of buying as it’s been stored for the winter. Any input is welcome and thank you for reading my post.
