Default Speed Engineering headers with 3in H pipe?

Wondering if this is possible. I want to go with Speed Engineering headers, however since the collector is a 3-in pipe, I want to retain 3-in piping all the way back to the stock Z06 mufflers(or aftermarket, undecided). However almost all kits go with an X Pipe. Personally I dont like the Xpipe sound and much prefer H pipes. However I'm not sure if there is any existing mid pipes avaliable that carry an H pipe and will bolt up to speed engineerings headers. If custom is the only way, so be it. But i want to see what everyone here thinks first. If anyone has done this, id love some advice

I’m with you on the H vs X sound, but have to note that the $200 price tag on Speed Engineering’s fitted 3” X-pipe is going to be very difficult to ignore.

I know, I wish there was something that fit in that space, that was an H pipe instead of an X

I don’t know of one, but seem to recall some conversation….Seems it wouldn’t be hard for a shop to fab up an h-pipe in 3”.

The two fellows below do a lot of exhaust stuff, maybe they can chime in.

This is just my personal opinion and I know others share that opinion with me.

The Speed Engineering X pipe is NOT a traditional X pipe. As a matter of fact if you stare at it from a direct point of view it really is just a glorified fancy H pipe.

The airflow is in no way shape or form an X nor does it create the "exotic" X pipe sound.

I would just run the Speed Engineering X / H / Merge balance chamber thingie and call it a day if you want the more traditional sound.
