Ugg... I could cry right now. I got this really nice 2002 2.5 months ago. It had the active handling fault on the dash and supposedly just started before the seller listed it. After driving a short time, a c1287 would generate. I bought a swps a couple months ago but just now installed it. I replaced it perfectly yet now I have a c1287 and c1288. I don't even have to drive, just turn the steering wheel back and forth. I had replaced the connector too but then for giggles, put the stock on back, and same 2 dtcs. The sensor I installed is a new Standard brand sensor. So, I'm thinking the sensor must be defective. I didn't want to do this job once, let along 2x. The steering shaft and steering column are keyed, plus I marked them. I had the steering wheel taped to the column switches I know it didn't rotate. Everything went textbook. Fn grrr. Besides a bad sensor, anyone have any ideas? I gained a dtc and they are even easier to generate than before, damn
Oil pressure low temp? These cars are nuts. I've only had it a short time but must have 200 labor hours and 1500 dollars into it. I still have loose seat tracks, a rattle under the car I haven't figure out yet and this damn active handling. I'm finding out why these are "a labor of love". Aka... keep your wallet open and don't plan on having any free weekends. I did find a schematic for the abs and swps for our cars, but don't have one for the ipc. Tons of good info in my attachement
