Default But wait theres more.. CODES

A rather wise member once told me the first step troubleshooting any vehicle since 1996 was pulling the codes and listing them for feedback... (Clearly was valid!)

2000 Auto C5 (bears mention its been modified, Heads, Cam etc) Current issues include security light, reverse lighting inop, no crank situation.

Well, turns out I had a happy helping of those suckers! I shall do some research on each of them but for your viewing pleasure and potential input please see below. Not sure if there's a grouping as a whole I should dig into first that may also have an affect on others or just take them as they come. (I already intend to go through all the grounds as a baseline move)

10-PCM P0705 HC
28-TCS No Codes
40- BCM B0502 H
40- BCM B0507 H
40- BCM B2482 H

Clear the all the codes if you know how to do it. Then start from whatever codes come back.

So the PCM code and HVAC code wouldnt allow me to erase them... I erased the rest.

Will they come back without the ability to have a running key cycle? As of right now its a no crank situation.

Do you know how to diagnose circuits and schematic??? If so ,google no start and follow the directions on what should happen at certain times while you try to start the car. Tons and tons of info, so start there do your homework and if you get stuck at a certain point and and have a specific question when you're trying to diagnose it not just where should i start. You have to put in the time to eliminate section of the start sequence.

To a point, I'm far from proficient probably, but enough to follow bread crumbs a bit.

Based off the fact I have the P0705 "Transmission Range Sensor", combined with a no-start and no reverse lights I am starting with that and see where a replacement switch takes me (has a crack on it anyway)

As for the rest, If I can manage to get it running with the selector switch I will see if the others return. (I read an awful lot about a bad battery causing a lot of those, which the car had when I first got it)

You ALWAYS start with having the battery load tested...the C5 starting system is pretty basic...trouble codes are not part numbers so if you don't have a factory level scan tool or electrical diagnostic ability to check the PNP switch seek out an auto electric shop in your area...you'll only be wasting your time and money...if you can't follow the electrical schematic below definitely seek out that shop.

Im also not gonna leave one that’s cracked on the car regardless. So it’s worth a shot. Otherwise yep schematic it is.
