I sold my Ti exhaust to get the Stingers. The Corvette is a head turning car. The Stinger system is a head turning exhaust. Just depends on what ur looking for.
Well. Your right the z06 titanium exhaust weighs in at about 13lbs per side making it 26lbs, but the borla stingers weigh 31lbs. I don't remember were but i know i saw it somewhere.
On the UPS label for the borla box it says 28lbs but that is entered by the warehouse not UPS. I weighed them both right here, and the stinger was ~1lb more then the Ti per side.. Maybe the older stingers were heavier but these are pretty darn light. The dual tip will be heavier because of the extra tip/pipe.
Either way, 2-3 lbs doesnt mean much. After a 400 mile round trip today with the stingers and the cruise locked at 82 I can still hear - if I did a lot of highway driving every day I couldnt take it, otherwise its not too bad. If you were closer Jeff I'd let you try the z06 mufflers..
I installed the two tip Borla stingers last week on a bone stock C5 6spd coupe and couldn't be more please. They look cool and I get no shaking. Did a side by side comparason with a friends identical car that has the Corsa Pace Car system. About the same decibels but an entirelt different sound. The Stingers sound like a small block Chevy(duh) whereas the Corsas have a more exotic sound. Just depends on personal taste. Bob

They probably wont move around with a stock car, I have a video camera and taped it but I have to figure out how to get it on the computer (I probably should have saved all the adpater cable that came with this video card). The Borlas have a real deep tone and I am getting used to the tips so I'll leave them on for a while. Besides I ran 11.70 through them yesterday and a bunch of people at the track complimented the way the car sounded - first time that ever happened
On my recently installed Z06 exhaust system - initial observations as follows:
Fit, Finish, Looks are great - all the exhaust tips line up correctly - no rattles or squeaks - should be, as was designed for C5 cars.
Sound -at idle is more aggressive than stock C5 system - but, not obtrusive.
Sound -at cruise is more aggressive than stock C5 system - but, not obtrusive - depending on the road surface - runflat tires can still be heard over the exhaust sound.
Sound - at WOT is a lot more aggressive than stock C5 system - but, not obtrusive - at least not from sound heard from inside car.
No snap, crackling or pop on down shifting with MN6.
No resonance inside car.
In my opinion - this is the exhaust system that should have come from the factory on all C5's.
It all depends in what you are looking for, but IMHO, the Stingers are the best out there. The stingers should have been a stock item. EVERYONE that I have talked to say that my car is now the way the Corvette should sound like.
My Vette with cam and stingers reminds me of the intimidation I used to get in my 5.0 with off road H pipe, Flowmasters and a B cam  Losers definately remember Stingers :D
I just cut and flanged at the muffler. For track days I just unbolt and the mufflers just slip off the hangers. It takes less than 5 minutes.
Surprisingly, the system without mufflers at all is not very loudl, certainly less than 90 dba. I think that anyone with creativity and a couple of 2 1/2 chrome glass-pack tips could put together a nice appearing and functional street system that would rival the big buck suppliers. sj
