Default Forge factory LS6 or go bigger?

Car is a 2004 Z06 with TFS 220 heads and a stage 1 BTR Centri cam running the A&A Vortech V3 Ti blower.

I'd like to reuse those parts if at all possible. I'm either considering pulling the internals out of the LS6 and putting forged in and calling it a day, or going with a bigger CI, but then I doubt I'd be able to effectively reuse the heads/cam combo that I currently have.

What do you guys think?

Also, is there anyone in the Illinois area that you'd recommend to rebuild the shortblock with forged internals?

Thanks!

Dan Bills at Finish Line Performance in Plainfield IL can point you in the right direction. If you don’t plan on building it yourself, Dan can build and tune it too. He would have to send the short block out to a machine shop. Keep your block, just forge the internals and put the proper pistons in for boost.

What is the goal? You should be over 600 HP at the wheel with your current setup.

Stroking the LS1/6 isn't worth the trouble IMHO. Going to the 4" stroke (383) is going to put the piston ring lands well into the piston pin, which can cause problems under boost.
Unless you have to smog - I'd go to an LS2 or LS3 block for the larger bore. You'll get more with 4"+ bore by unshrouding valves.
