Clutch Problems, please help.
today while driving, i noticed that my clutch felt really soft. Before I knew it , I could no longer put the car in any gear. The clutch is really soft, but returns all they way from the floor to its position. while its soft and feels slow returning, it is not sticking to the floor at all. (i had this happen once when my slave clyinder blew, its been replaced) The funny thing is, I can put the car in gear fine when the engine is turned off. So to drive it home, I had to put the car in 2nd, then start it, and shift without the clutch. (another long story)
some background is, the clutch is a Mccloud (single disk) clutch that was put it, about 8000 miles ago. All of the other pieces around the clutch are stock, the slave cylinder was replaced about 30k ago. I checked fluid levels and they appear to be fine. What do you think my problem is? Any idea how to go about fixing it? (the car is no longer under warranty, so every cost is out of pocket)
thank you in advance for your repiles.
