Default Blackwing- no diff...is there a wait for computer to re-learn?

Installed the blackwing everyone raves about and it looks nice, i'm sure it flows great & it is coupled it with the Borla stingers i already had.......no noticable improvement at all (though the car is quick as all hell.....i can bust 'em loose on the freeway). Now i know it is just an air filter but from everyones reviews i just got excited....now i have also seen alot of guys say they noticed improvement only after their computer "re-learned."
Whats the Skivvy on this & how many miles ?
Thanks Fellas

Don't worry about a relearn.....the car will learn on its own.

Took my car about 75 to 100 miles to respond. It's very subtle. You'd need before and after dyno pulls or track slips to see just how much HP or performance it added to your car. But the BW will flow all the air the LS1 needs to be effecient and produce it's max power.

Well, 12-15HP can barely be felt in the SOTP meter, but make sure its on tight and you will feel the difference as the computer relearns. If you cut the shroud, seal the hood and get some air screens you will feel a nice difference.

Some people have reccomended this:

I will get the adapter for my Blackwing this week and think I will go through this process to help the computer relearn and product max power. Any comments?

I dyno'ed without resetting the pcm, and had the same numbers. I'm waiting for the weather to stabilize a bit, and now that I've reset the computer, I'm going to redyno. Blackwing does work. :smash: :smash: :smash:
With a blackwing on, I can break the tires loose in 2nd gear (A4 w/ 2.73) while driving on the highway. Couldn't do that stock, so it must be doing something. (And no, it's not just the weather either . I first did this back in october.) :D :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash:

I put mine on and it the exhaust and intake sound was louder right away, no relearning time. Then a year later I went back to the stock paper filter. Again, the exhaust and intake got quieter, right away no relearning at all.
The car feels faster with the Blackwing, slower with the stock, but that is just SOTP. The sound differences are very real though, so I think it is doing something right away on mine anyway.
