Default Oxygen Sensor Wiring

I'd like to replace the wires that run to my oxygen sensors (sensor 1 on both bank 1 and 2). Trouble is, they pass from the sensor up around the bell housing into the either that is the back of my engine! Somewhere back there they mysteriously meld with the rest of the wiring and become surrounded in the wiring loom... its magic, for sure...

I have the shop manual through ALLDATA, but it doesn't show me the path of the wiring. I presume that it comes from the PCM, which I haven't found...

The wiring is old, the colors have faded, numerous splices in the past have made it nearly impossible to splice in new wiring.

So, does anyone have a diagram showing WHERE the wires originate from and what path they travel to reach the O2 sensors? I can certainly weave a new path once i have found the point of origin.

Lastly - is that 16 gauge wire? Is it special wiring that is meant to handle the heat around the engine? Probably NOT something I'll find at my local auto parts or Lowes...

Thank you in advance for your helpl!

Jeff

The auto parts store is exactly the place you would go to procure wire for repairs on the engine. They carry many different colors, gauges, and lengths.

Well, service manual to the rescue again.......

The schematic has two identifications on either side of a wire. The identification to the left indicates the diameter in millimeters and wire color. The identification to the right is the circuit number.

You have to remove the right front wheel for access to the PCM.

Thank you very much.

I should be able to locate the wires at the PCM using my multi meter... I appreciate your help!

sure you can use your meter but the schematic tells you exactly which connector they're in and what color of the connector is

You're right... that would be silly when the information is right there in front of me...

Thank you for your help!
