Broken exhaust, part 2

I had to drive to my friend's shop to do the welding. On my way there, my
radio was pretty much useless against the sound of that open pipe.
Is this what the SLP "loudmouth" sounds like, or does the shape of the pipes
have some tuning effect. I know this sounds like a real dumbbutt
question, but I am considering replacing the whole thing, or getting the A&A mod. I can't drive the car if the SLP sounds just like an open pipe.
