Alternator Tech?
I need some help in the alternator department. I need a bigger alternator for the C5, no one seems to have any good info on what fits (NAPA, PEPBOYS,SCHUCKS) so I'll ask here.
I'm looking for a 200+ amp alternator. A few people reccomended this place : http://www.alternatorparts.com/CS-144_Special_offer.htm but they don't list applications. They offer a 200amp CS-144 at a very good price. I called the # and the guy wasn't sure if it would be compatible, and thought I would need a custom rear bracket.
They also sell a double recifier version, that supports more current (250), but require 6.5" from the back of the belt. It would be nice if this fits.
Can anyone give me some more info? Is the CS-144 a direct replacement for the C5? Do I need any of the listed harneses? I'm going crazy here... They charge a 20% restock fee, so I don't want to guess at this...
