hey, its the new guy again...has anyone out there seen any test pipe that replaces the catylitic converters if so where the heck did you find them. here's my grand exhaust plan...belanger or lingenfelter longtubes, test pipe, crossover, corsa pace cat backs. :banghead:
Why not just pickup the FLP's? The set comes with LT headers, high flow cats, off road pipes (which replace the cats), and an x-pipe. Everything in the kit is a bolt on.

good point, that brings up a question...i eventually plan to get a head and cam package probably will go w/ lingenfelter, also a ls6 manifold, if i do this will the lt headers that fit on my stock set up also fit the upgrades or is there an adapter kit?
The exhaust ports on LS6 vs. LS1 heads are different, but your tuner should not have a problem supplyng heads that will work with your existing setup. So you shouldn't have any issues with buying LT headers today and getting a H/C (heads/cam) setup in the future. I'll be doing that myself when the budget permits.
Why would removing the cats make the exhaust stink? I've had many cars without cats and none stunk. I've always thought that it's the cats that cause the smell.
i was checking around and found the flp's(thanks by the way) gonna buy em' :hurray: anyone know of a installer in the jacksonville area, or can you go to your average exhaust shop for this? great feed back helped tremendously...thanks :D
i've been without cats on mine for about 8 mos., and all my other vehicles with cats smell a lot more than my 'vette. i think i've smelled rotten eggs twice................. :chevy

It varies car to car. Some people claim to never smell the "gas" smell from removing the cats. Meanwhile I smell mine every time I start my car.
I'm in the process of making a intermediate section for the track (he he).
My current intermediate pipe has a floating fit H pipe into my TPIS LT's which is welded to the cats and then to the Magna-Flow X pipe which bolts to the B&B tri flo cat back.
My new pipe will have the TPIS H pipe for the floating fit into the headers, then no cats, weld in new pipe and the X section from Xtreme MotorSports to the stock leftovers (removing the stock H pipe) and I've got a no cat X pipe intermediate section for the track.
Plenty of local talent for putting on the headers and exaust system, but everyone in our area that I know of goes to Orlando for tuning and more sophisticated work, Roger Vinci, Mike Norris are 2 very good ones in the Orlando area.._bill

Two votes for Norris. He's the only guy in Florida with a shop that specializes in C5's with a dyno and LS1 edit. http://www.norris-motorsports.com/
