I'm sure someone will chime in with the name of a tuner in your area that is equipped to do LS1-Edit. In the meantime, here is the manufacturer's website: http://www.carputing.com

I know that you order it from http://www.carputing.com and I think it is $550 for a single VIN and $150 for each additional up to 4 (unsure). Then I think there is an unlimited VIN one that is a hell of a lot more money.

Typically the tuner will use a dyno and make 2 "pulls". First "pull" he will run your car as it came thru the doors to him that day and untuned to establish a baseline and to download your PCM program. 2nd "pull" he will modify the couple of hundred programming points within the LS1 Edit software that affect throttle position at various rpms, idle speed, air/fuel ratio at different rpms, spark/timing advance and so on until he obtains the maximum RWHP and RWTQ numbers for your specific configuration. Each car is different.

Total time to make 2 "pulls" and tune your car is around 3 hours. Cost is typically in the neighborhood of $400-$500. The final tuned setup is usually dumped to a floppy for your keeping. The tuner usually retains a copy also so that if you come back he already has the files. If you go to the dealer for repair work, etc they will sometimes purge your program so they can work with the only baseline they are allowed - GM's. You can take your car back to the tuner and he can reload the tuned program. Typically will charge you $50-$100 for the effort.

At least that's how it works in Houston. I use a great tuner named Chris at SpeedDemon. Chris knows his stuff and will spend the time to explain and educate you. You need to find a tuner in your area that will do likewise.

One last note - speed cost $$$$$$ Just pony up and pay the price or learn how to DIY and purchase the necessary tools. I use Chris for the LS1 Edit work because I don't have the $40,000 for a dyno and LS1 Edit package.

Good luck.
