Default Headers or supercharger?

I'm debating investing in headers and high flow CATS vrs. supercharging. Obviously the header cats combo is a lot less money. Also with this approach there should not be any additional stress on the engine as with supercharging. I know I could manage the boost but I figure I can do the header set up and get my seats redone at Vette Essentials for the price of a supercharger. What scares me is I'll probably end up with all the above!

What do ya think? I think I'm talking 25-30 HP with headers and maybe 100 HP with supercharging so its all relevant price wise.

Well, the cool part about the headers/seats combo is that you can feel one mod (the headers) and see the other (seats). I do that first.

I was in a similar situation.

I decided to go for power first and looks second. Now, I have ordered just about all of the power mods I will need (for now). . .as of today, I started ordering custom interior stuff. :D

My only words of advice, "it never ends!" Go for the power mods first. Just think if you get the SC you will be puttin' out more power than that silly clown shoe viper! :yesnod:

Who knows, you and I may even get together and go SNAKE huntin'. :auto:

Keep in mind that supercharger will give you 100hp if you go w/ only 5# of boost. You can safely run 7 or 8#'s if you choose the intercooled ATI supercharger.

7# puts stock LS1 at 535hp (450rwhp)
8# puts stock LS1 at 585hp (500rwhp)

Keep in mind that if you do the supercharger you probably will not be buying "only" a supercharger, but upgraded drive train components. If not now real soon. I think I read the stock clutch is only good up to around 380-400rwhp.

If you get a S/C you will probably buy headers anyway in the long run. I would do that first. Get the motor breathing good on it's own first THEN it will be better suited for the air the S/C crams down it's throat.

If you want the HP... go for the S/C. Forget all those $1,000 mods that give you 15 rwhp... the S/C will give you over 100 more rwhp!!
