Anyone...... At what speed does your gears shift from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, and 3rd to 4th happen? At the smallest amount of throttle (virtually no pressure on the pedal).
I had my car tuned and my shift speeds are 11, 20, and 28 mph respectfully. Just want to see what the standard is!
I think you need to specify your axle ratio. I have the 2.73 and haven't looked at the tach (I will for you), but seems to run at almost idle most of the time, to the point I always put it in '3' unless I'm traveling over 70 mph.
What I hate the most is how lazy the transmission kicks down; am I the only one?
Is there a way to change that with the PREDATOR tool? I received an Email you can change the shift duration to +- 25%, and the firmness of the shifts by the same amount. NO mention about kickdown though.

Re: A4 Owners (CantHookUp)
The greatest benifit of the 4L60-E(a-4) is you can tune it to shift at what ever you want.... for example, at light load, I adjusted my lock-up down to 35mph for better in town mpg. A shift kit will improve shift feel and durability as well. As far as spesific MPH upshifts as a strandard.... Every set-up,(gear ratio, converter, camshaft profile, ect.) is different and will have better results with individual tuning. :smash:

Hey guys, could you provide more info on the 'tuning' for us newbies???
What exactly can you 'tune' our A4? What to buy, where to buy, how to do it, etc. etc.
One other thing I don't like about my A4 is how lazy it downshifts, especially when the TC is locked. My car has only 800 miles, and has the 2.73 gears. Is this tuning will eliminate the kickdown delay?
I know there are many people who are currently badmouthing Steve Cole and the Powerloader - but once I got mine, the shift points and more specifically the crisp responsiveness of the shifting is significantly improved, not to mention the 9 h.p. gain at the real wheel.
I think the best thing you can do with the A4 is take it to MTI and have them set your shift points higher, and have them take out torque management. I have the HPP3 and adjusted the shift points with that, then had the tq mgt taken out and it breaks the tires loose on the 1-2 shift from anything above 2/3 throttle. It really makes the shifts hard. It was even breaking them loose on the 1/2 shift on the track the last time i went, and i have the 2.73 gear !!
The #'s you post are the standard for the 2.73 gear, I have changed gears ( 3.42) & T-C, SY3500 & I have changed my #'s to 15, 20, 30. I'm not sure if I'm happy yet, but with the LS1Edit I'm able to change these #'s by going to the transmission section & looking at the Normal Mode Shift Speed chart. From there you can change up-shifts & down-shifts at any speed, any gear, & any % of TPS. Hope this helps.
I switched from the PowerLoader II to the Predator. My only disappointment is the Predator doesn't downshift as easily as the Powerloader did. I discussed this with James and he was going to talk to Diablo but nothing ever came of it...
