I'm installing a new red air coupler on my C5, I read a post saying that after while from the heat it will start to collapse. Has anybody else had this problem, should I install an inner support ?
Re: Air Coupler>Will it collapse on me ? (speedy77)
I've heard of others having the problem, although I personally never have. I've had silicone air couplers for about 3 years with no problem at all. I'm not sure why or how they would collapse unless they were loose somehow or were too big.

Mine has never shown any sign of this problem, it would seem to have to have a restriched or clogged filter to enitiate this condition. but not sure of this. :seeya
Re: Air Coupler>Will it collapse on me ? (speedy77)
Our stock one has collapsed on the stock engine. The silicone unit we currently have has not collapsed, even while flowing more air, in the now modded engine...

It should be no problem. Silicone couplers can withstand underhood heat and not warp if they are undamaged to begin with. I have one attached to my Halltech CF and the throttle body, still no issues after3 years.
