Default Rear O2 sensor question....

I just added the Dr. gas X pipe to my exhaust system and it doesnt have holes for the rear O2 sensors. I have bungs but I really dont feel like welding them in. Can I just wire tie the sensors up so they dont drag the ground and cover them with a balloon or something? Any suggestions would be greaaaaaaaaatly appreciated.

You can have them turned off with an Ls1 edit.

I dont understand what you are asking. Why dont you just disconnect the sensors and store them away in a box somewhere? WTH are you talking about putting baloons on?

Jmx,
I was leaning toward just removing them....I didnt know if the computer needs to see a signal or what for the rear O2s. Can I just remove them?
Phillip
BTW..ballons would keep the sensors clean

Personally, I would rather use a Trojan latex condom over a balloon. That way you're protected against virus transmission and stuff. I can only imagine how bad a computer virus could muck up your engine if one entered the PCM via the exposed O2 sensor! If you're gonna stick your sensors where they don't belong - use protection! Balloons... sheesh. Some people...

just turn off all the codes for rear sensor activity, high and low voltage and heater in LS1edit and unplug them. They are there for checking the efficiency of the cats and wont affect drivabilty. Save the small balloons for covering the connector so it doesnt get filled with junk :)
