help needed, dic errors when starting cold... read more inside... pull key etc...
Ok here goes I originally thought this was a column problem but now I know there is more to it. When the car sits for more than an hour I will get pull key message then service column lock when starting it. after about 3 or 4 ignition cycles and one start the messages will not come back and all is fine. I thought it might have been a battery issue, put in a new battery and still get the readout, but when i check for error codes none are listed even though the dic will say service column lock :confused: I also got a service tire mon msg today but then started the car and all was fine. the column does not lock, i have the recal fix for A4. so i guess my question is why would i get a pull key then service column message only when the car has sat for at least an hour? starts fine when it hasn't sat for long, could this be a bcm problem (mine was replaced 18 months ago)? other than being a nusance I guess the car runs fine, and I already tried the pulling fuse 25 and 29 technique. any thoughts are appreciated as I am really sick of having to perfrom this ritual to drive :seeya

:confused: car starts fine if it sits for more than about an hour or so I will get pull key then when i reinsert i get service column lock (but it isnt locked) start it once and cycle the ignition 2 or 3 times and then the car is fine :confused: no codes show just the dic readout, any ideas ???
