I have not done any mods? will this still help?
My 2003 MN 6 has a slight lump in the idle too - it runs perfect, just a tad rough in the idle. It seems normal after, I test drove another '03 at a dealership, it had the same idle as mine. If it is really bad, like car shaking bad, I have read that a plug may be to blame.
Plugs, wires or coils could be bad. Take it to the dealership and let them check it over. If they dont find anything wrong, Replace the plugs and wires yourself. THen take a timing light and hook it up to each plug wire and see if each coil is working like it should. The way you do that is to watch the strobe and see if you have a steady spark. If the spark is eratic then you know that coil is bad. I had this problem on my car for 3 years and we finally found it using this technique.
It is best to find the problem now, if you start modding the car and take it to the dealership, they will only blame the mods for the problem.
Mine all of a sudden got rough as well. It turned out to be a vacuum hose connection came loose. Check to see if you threw a code. Turn the key to ON and push the fuel button four times while holding the options button down. This will cause the computer to do a diagnostic check that shows in the DIC. If you throw any code numbers write them down and post on the Forum. Someone will then likely be able to post the service manual info for your particular code(s).
It may be something you can check for yourself. If not, at least you'll have a clue as to what is wrong.
