Hypertech advertises a Power programmer III that is suppose to improve stock performance. Has anyone had any experience with this product. If so, what did it do for you. I have a 99C5.
Thanks is advance
i used it to adjust my shift points, shift firmness, redline, and to have the fans turn on sooner. loaded the power program and did not notice any difference so i removed it. bought it off a forum member for i think 120 shipped. its good to have if you have an A4 but it is limited i cant adjust for the 3.42's and that is the biggest bummer IMO. but it is cool for what i mentioned before in that area it works great just dont expect too much
it did improve shifting and with the rev limit and shift points higher its more of a joy to drive...

I used one on my 96 LT1, I could see a difference and was happy the changes. Have one for my 99 but haven’t used it yet. :flag
On my 98, saw a noticeable improvement in low rpm torque but not much top end. Great for adjusting fan temps. On my LT1, saw most benefits from adjusting shift firmness in the auto.

Devo, why can't you adjust for the 3.42 gear with the Hypertech? I also have Hypertech installed and have the 3.15 gear but am considering a change to 3.42. I thought I could adjust for any ratio with the Hypertech unit.
with the model i have for my 98' and maybe yours too there is no adjustment for 3.42... there is one for 3.15, 3.73 but not 3.42.
i emailed hypertech and they told me that this is only avail for 99' and up so i guess you and i are outta luck. my 3.42's are just sitting here in the garage, im waiting to buy a TC and transgo and i will either get LS1 edit or an Ed Wright fastchip. if you know someone that has a hypertech for a 98' that will adjust for 3.42's please let me know it will save me about 500-600 dollars!
