I cant make up my mind on stock ZO6 sizes or 18's all the way around. What are the pros and cons on having 18's on all 4 corners? Anyone have pictures with 18" chrome ZO6 wheels front and back?
I have 18's on all corners. I prefer the 18's on the rear and 17's in the
front. I spent the bucks so I will leave it as is for now since I bought the
wheel and tire combo from a vendor. Down the road I am hoping and praying they will make a Z06 chrome 19 inch wheel for the back. At that
time I would buy the 19's for the rear and go with a 10.5 or 11 inch tire
on the rear. I would definitely buy the 10.5 for the rear that is available now if you are buying new ones. You are smart doing your homework first.
I just hate doing all this stuff twice! :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash:
I had the 18" y2k's on my '01 Coupe, with 265/35/18's Pilot Sports, and felt every fricken' bump on the road (lowered, bushings cut). Now I have my '03 Z, the ride is great with the stock 17's, and the car has been identically lowered with cut bushings in the front. Something to consider.
Did you cut your bushings in the front? From the picture it looks like a three finger gap--mine rode fine until I cut the front bushings and had a 1.5 finger gap....
To answer your question CJS. The 18's all the way around handle just
as good as the stock wheels and tires. Its just a cosmetics issue. Many people like it because you will obtain a slightly lowered look if the tires
are exactly the same sizes on the front and on the rear. I still cannot believe a vendor doesnt make the 19x10.5 or 19x11 for the rear. I am sure they
will someday and I am waiting for that day. IMO the 19's on the rear are
super super nice looking with 18's on the front. In the meantime I will keep
what I have because I only have about 7000 miles on them.
i have 18' all around, love it....would be nice to have 19 on the back though.
:withstupid:
Trust me, after you got 18" all around and next time you see another C5 with 17 and 18 combo, you know that you make the right decision
Thanks for all the info! Hey PeteyPete is that gap over the rear tire larger than it was with the stock tire size? What size tire are you running front and back? Thanks again. This forum is a great thing! :hurray:
When you guys change the rim/tire sizes on you C5/Z06's, is there any reprogramming that needs to be done to calibrate the speedo and to keep everything else like the ABS/traction system working properly, or do you just
leave it alone? And, if anyone knows, does a HPP3 ask for the size of both the front and rear tires when reprogramming?
I'm just curious since I would like to go 18's all around or 18F and 19R when I
get my C5 this year.
18" wheels on all four corners on my machine. I had stock tires and wheels. Now....dam best thing I did. Read about the sizes next to my sig pic. Slammed my machine to the ground too. Tires sensors work fine and no messages from my DIC. And looks frickin sweet with those wide azz tires in the rear. Say NEVRL8...do it to YOUR liking.
NEVRL8, i'm running 295/35's in the rear and 265/35's in the front. I have noticed a bit more wheel gap in the rear since i've had the new wheels installed, nothing a little lowering couldn't fix :)
