Default 5.3 Liter Truck Heads....?

I have a set of 5.3 liter truck heads, and was wondering if I should put them on the vette....

What would have to be done to the heads (ie port, larger valves, etc..). Also, would I still be able to run on 91 octane, I hear these heads bump up your compression ratio.

Lastly, what forum vendor does head work such as porting and such. I emailed MTI, but haven't heard back yet. Thanks guys....

the 5.3 liter heads have a smaller combustion chamber, thus bumping your compression. Not sure the amount though

any vendor that does head work will work the 5.3 liter head for you.

MTI
LGM
Xtreme is in AZ

hope that helps

For 1200-1400 Total Engine Airflow will CNC the combustion chambers, CNC the runners, hand blend the bowls and assemble with dual valve springs. They will flow 300cfm on the intake side and 250-260 on the exhaust side. If your looking for best bang for the buck look for Total engine airflow

Exactly what Phil97SVT said, above. Send them to Total Engine Airflow (TEA) in Bowling Green, KY and talk to Brian Tooley. They have a custom 5.3L CNC program that really does a great job. I have the TEA 5.3L Stage II heads on my Corvette and I love them. I live about 1.5 hours from TEA and I've been there on several occasions. Great people and great products.
