Default Code: 58-SDM B1001H

Hey all, I got a code that is not listed on any code list I've seen so far. Has anyone ever seen this one or know what it means? I don't even know what module this refers to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

B1001 = Option Configuration Error
Basically, the SDM (sensing and diagnostic module) which controls your air bags, compares the restrain ID with the ID stored in the BCM via a class 2 serial data line.

It usually indicates that either the SDM or the BCM have been replaced, and in this case, the ID of the SDM has not been learned by the BCM. Replacement modules need to be reprogrammed for proper operation.

If you have had your SDM replaced (or the BCM), have the place that replaced it, reprogram the BCM. If not replacement of the SDM, it could be a larger problem, or just a momentary blurp in the system circuits.

Since the SDM controls your air bags, this could be a serious problem.
