Brake and Clutch Fluid Question
The level was OK in both, but the brake fluid appeard dark brown and dirty (compared with new) and the clutch fluid was worse appearing almost black with a black slimy residue formed on inside of the resivoir and rubber seal on the cap.  The car has never been abused (driven hard on occaision) and has always been well maintained and garged during winters in a heated garage.
Is this normal? There is no mention of changing brake or clutch fluid in the service manuals or owners manual.

I never hurts to change the Brake fluid regularly. But I'd think at 10,000 miles it would be too soon. Unless you drive it hard. Either way use a high quality fluid like Super Blue Racing..
Changing the clutch fluid (Brake Fluid) is a pain in the assss. To do it right you must open the the bellhousing to access the Slave cylinder. Some people use the turkey baster method and keep sucking out the master cylinder and replacing it with new fluid.. I guess eventually you will get it all but you may go through twice the fluid to get it all out..

The Clutch fluid always gets that black crap on it. It a common condition and is noted by GM. The black color "leaches" out of the rubber seal. It does no harm.
