Hi all. This is a great forum and it's been a pleasure reading many of your posts
I'm new to the vette world but not to GM performance. I've graduated to C5 from the Buick Grand National world. Needless to say, we are the owners of the best sports car ever built! I ahve a question though:
I'm looking into ways to play with the slush box. I'm not real familiar with just how electronic the 4L60E is... Are all the shift point controlled electronically, or does it still use a governor and accumilators? What about line pressure? Spring or sollenoid?
I think it would be pretty fun to make the tranny have a manual mode of sorts using buttons to shift up and down when in 3. The circuitry wouldn't be that hard, but it depends on just how advanced our trannies are...
Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Thanks for the tip...I'd also like to make the tranny more sensitive to driver input. That's why I thought playing with the electronics would be a fun thing to mess with. It all depends on how shift points are controlled...
Phil, you're right, the LS1 Edit allows you to change shift points, shift firmness, torque, line pressure, etc. Go to a webb site called ( ls1edit@slowcar.net) You can check out Transmission Calibration & get an idea of whats possible. Hope this helps.
