Default seats and memory

I have standard seats with NO memory. Can I upgrade to sports seats and will the power still work? Can I upgrade to memory seats.

The power should still work. I believe the memory is a function of the computer, not the seat. So you probably won't have memory functionality.

Right on - - your power seat function will work fine but you will not have the memory eitherway.. Memory is a fuction of the computer as stated above

Some of the memory is stored in seat modules but they need to interact with the "computer" via a data link. If you want to add memory you'll need a whole different seat bottom for the drivers seat (which would be in your sport seats). I would also guess you'd need different power/data link cables and some programming. No memory for the passenger seat so that one is easy

You probably could, but it would be expensive. The seat control module controls the driver's seat, and the BCM supplies the wake up signals for easy exit/entry.
The BCM will either have to be reprogrammed or replaced to recognize and supply the information for memory functions.

The LH driver's seat module may have to be replaced, again, not sure if there are two distinct modules; one for non-memory package, one for memory package, or just a different program, I would expect a complete different module.
Also the seat motors may have to be replaced due to built in sensors that determine the memory location. Then you have the associated wiring that most likely requires replacing.
For mirrors, add a new door module, since it retains the memory locations of the outside mirrors.
