Any advice on a tougher torque convertor for my '03? I've got B&B PRT exhaust and VaraRam Air. Occasional trans slippage on blastoff and between 1st-2nd. Wondering if it's worth the effort/expense and what other parts need to go with a new torque converter.
Thanks in advance...
One of the weakest points of the C5 A4 is the driveline....especially the Torque converter. Depending on what your trying to accomplish..I would change the converter AND the differential ratio :yesnod: If your just looking for a more responsive daily driver then I would suggest a Pro Torque 2800 converter and a set of 3.42 gears..You should also consider a Transgo shift kit for more responsive shifts..You should also invest in a Diablo Predator for the PCM programming and tighten up the shift points and delete the Torque management sytem..This will result in a very responsive lightning quick shifts with plenty of additional SOTP gratification...I promise!:D
Having my new 3.42's and sy3500 installed next Tuesday. I asked about the Trans-go shift kit and trans-cooler....(as many of you have done)....was told I really didn't need them. He said he didn't know if they made them for 01's anyway? Can someone please chime in(do not mean to hijack!) :seeya
