Default Clutch need replacing/adjustment?

The clutch in my friends 98 grabs really high compared to my 02. He hates how it grabs so high is wondering if he can have it adjusted to grab lower or does it need to be replaced. The car has 55K miles on it but is not driven hard.

He might try bleeding the clutch, that might help. Generally the clutch is self adjusting. If that doesn't help it's time to replace.

You can try to adjust the clutch some yourself. Pull the inspection plate off under the clutch, push the clutch pedal to the floor, then move the slider's on the pressure plate counter-clockwise I believe. It will move the clutch closer to the flywheel.
