how much power can a stock 2001 a4 transmission handle? which mods would be the limit for the car? i dont plan to stomp the pedal all the time, just the occasional spirited run on the highway. not too many empty roads here in chicago. would like a much better throttle repsonse though, esp with all the rice around here. the rice on the roads i mean, not in my kitchen.
How well your stock A4 tranny holds up depends ALOT on how you drive your car. Even with a stock engine if you constantly beat on your car more than likely you will need to rebuild your transmission sooner or later. If you do heavy duty mods like H/C or a S/C or you run nitrous more than likely you will need a rebuild sooner rather than later.
You can probably go with the typical bolt ons..Intake system..exhaust headers and free flowing cat back exhausts..Once you get into the engine with Heads and cam, also consider a better performance transmission. They are not very well built for higher H.P. OR...Just go with a Transgo shift kit and and a PCM tuning and get better shifts and better response overall..:D
