Heads/Cam - Supercharger?
In next few months I am going to have some extra $ so I am looking to get a head/cam package or super charger. My target is around 450 rwhp. I am really looking into cartek. Which route is more reasonably priced keeping in mind instal, tuning etc. Don't really want to spend more than 5 to 7k Also I have heard a lot about the cartek X package and don't really understand what set up it is what stage heads and cam or is it special order?If i did go this route will it pass smog in CA? Also any suggestions as far as a place that will install for me and tune in So Ca I would love to send to cartek(if I go that route) but don't think I have time or resources.

Your in the same boat as me. I've looked H/C or Turbo. I like turbo better than suppercharging. If you go turbo you can go with a Cerra Racing kit for 6500.00 and if comes with everything, you will get on a fully stock motor 420-460 RWHP, with exhaust, no catts, intake you gain a little more. With a head and cam I can do everything to my car and still be cheaper. I can do a fully exhaust and air intake system, shifter, clutch, and new 4.10 gears and be under that cost. But you will have to get both tuned. The down side to a H/C is you will max out RWTQ at 410-430 and RWHP at 450-475 but with turbo and only 7lbs boost you get RWTQ 470-520 and RWHP at 420-460. You can also turn down the boost to make it more streetable. I'm going to go with the H/C and all the goodies. I get a new car every 6 months so I want to see if I can get any of my money back out of the car, before I spend the extra on a turbo.
