Had the car for to years and have always noticed that when i rev the car it ratles once i let the revs go down. Not sure if its geting worse. No other probs.
No its not pinging it only makes the noise if i take my foot of the gas and dosnt always happen. Its been like it for two years and hasnt given me no probs
The only rattle I notice is when I rev the engine above 2-3k while sitting still (easier to hear than when driving) is due to the belts IMHO. The reason I'm guessing belts is that when I hit them with belt dressing (short term rattle fix) or rubbing the belt with soap--yes bar soap while car is idling (longer term fix) the sound goes away.
I just hit the belts with soap based on the recommendation of a friend on Sunday, and havent noticed the sound return yet. It probably will. I don't know why the soap helped.
Any ideas? If the rattle returns, I'll probably have the engine belts replaced since I just hit 35k miles on an '00 FRC LS1 Vette, and it may be time.
If there is any other thing short of replacing the belts, I'm all ears. The rattle isn't noticeable unless I rev above 2-3k, which is something I like to do--every so often :flag

Really? that's odd....I'm going to think about this as it is got me kinda stumped. If it's still happening next week...I will probably be in Vegas Wed-Fri and am interested in hearing what it sounds like.
