Minivette, nice job. Quick question - is the power hookup that you used in the passenger footwell the same power supply as would be used if you were hardwiring your radar detector? If so, I assume you could (physically at least) hook up both to this power supply, but would there be a concern as far as the amount of power draw (load) is concerned? Possible fuse problems? Thanks.

Yes, that would be the same wire and you can physically hook both to it. Judging by the size (as I do not know the load of the light or the radar detector)of the shiftlight wire, which is very small, I think it would be fine.
I have heard of issues when a shiftlight is physically mounted near the V1. When the shiftlight (light) goes off, the V1 will detect a laser signal. However I think V1 has a fix for this.
