just finished the install of the flp headers (no cats) and the ghl exhaust haven't had it tuned yet still debating on where to go, but they sound awsome. along with the blackwing and larger pace maf i'm expecting some decent gains. all in preperation for heads/cam  . i saw the grizzly headers somewhere on one of the forum's sites, never heard anybody talk about them and wondering if anyone's running them.
I know i may be bias in opinion because i am the manufacturer of the Grizzly's and have them on my car but for what it's worth I love em. Later today we will be adding video clips of the Grizzly to our website, feel free to stop by and check them out. WWW.Section8Racing.com
Stay cool
I did before and after dyno's on my car when i installed them and got 35 horse from only the Grizzly and a Vortex box alone. Obviously all cars are different and the rating depend on what else is on the car, we will be fine tuning these ratings as we get more systems tested. We are currently waiting on results from a Magnuson Supercharger and Grizzly combo.
Sectn8,
I cannot recognize any mounting tabs on the headers' collectors, where the headers are connected to the clutch cover. Do you think these tabs are not necessary?
We designed our system to have absolutly no welding, and by incorporating stainless steel band clamps it leaves room for many different adjustments to make sure they line up perfectly. Our installer has it down to only 3 hours to install the whole system including taking out the old system.
How difficult is it to actually get the headers mated to the engine? Are they easier to install from above or below? If someone was doing a self-install, are there any "gotchas" that they need to be prepared for?
Sorry for all the questions - I've been considering Grizzlys for some time now (still saving up for headers...) and since I have not seen very much discussion around these headers, I'm just curious...
We do not mind questions at all, it shows interest in our products. There are a few tricks to install them, but first we do recommend a professional installer because it is easier to install with a lift but it can be done without one. The passenger side header goes in from the top while the driver side goes in from the bottom.
A few of the "gotchas" are the motor needs to be unbolted from the mounts and lifted slightly to gain clearence for the driver side. Also make sure all A/C lines and electrical are clear of the headers to prevent burn through.
Those are a few of the "gotchas" that we know of but as with all car stuff every install is different. Feel free to contact us directly for anymore questions if you would like.
