I just installed TPIS headers. It sounds like most aftermarket plug wires touch the headers and end up melting. Are there any plug wires that have aluminum shielding or can accept factory shield to prevent melting?
Finally, what do you guys thinking about NGK TR55 Iridium plugs? I have copper now but tired of changing them once a year...

I believe that the MSD's can use the factory shield (not 100% positive). Have the NGK Iridiums and they are a great plug. :yesnod:
The plugs I have are the NGK-TR55IX plugs. They are great....and I'm comfortable changing them every 50k or more. Thunderracing.com has really good prices on them as well as wires.
I can hook you up with a custom set of Phillip's Racing Wires with or without nomex shields. They accept the stock shields and come in blue, red, yellow, black or white. These wires are used on many, many race cars. Alot of race engines come with some of the other after-market wires named and when they melt, the engine builders/crew chiefs switch to these race wires.

Thank you all for the replies. Couple more questions:
1. Even with the factory shield, I noticed that one of the stock plug/shield is literally touching the headers. Is there any chance that the shield will get hot enough to melt the wire inside? I am not sure how to get around this other than beding the crap out of the wires... Please advise.
