Hi,
I am talking my rear wheels off so wanna replace the fuel filer but not sure the right location.
I am waiting for y'all help
The pix is on my passenger rear wheel. Is the fuel filter inside that?
I just unbolt those bolts and fuel is comming out. http://www.geocities.com/mikec5vert/fuel.html
BTW, I got the fuel filter at dealer for only 20$. Is it the right one since I have heard people got it for 50$
thanks
Stop! The pic you have up is where the fuel pump is located on the side of the tank, the pump itself is inside the tank. what year is your vette? One or both of the lines showing will lead to your fuel filter, depending on year model.

Thanks ... that was also my guess ...
I did stop there and put everything back and wait until I get the service manual.

on the late model 'vettes the item described above is a fuel pressure
regulator! On earlier model c5's the regulator is on the fuel rails.
The filters are located in the tanks and you should be familiar or have
a service manual handy before attempting to change them.
There is a fuel filter inside the regulator that is mounted inside the frame
rail but (as stated in the service manual) it should not have to be replaced unless it is believed contaminated or the fuel pressure (at the fuel rails) is
lower than spec's. That thing on the fuel rail is a pulse dampener (or something like that),it's not a pressure regulator. The '97-'99 DID have a
pressure regulator mounted on the fuel rail (the second hose was for fuel
return to the tank),however,on the '00 to present the fuel pressure regulator
was moved to the location you described inside the frame rail.Granted it does
look like a fuel filter and it does have a filter built in,but it is a fuel pressure
regulator. :yesnod:
Now,the '97-'99 may indeed have a fuel filter as you describe,I wouldn't
know. But on the late models you have the strainers in the tanks and the
final filter in the pressure regulator that is mounted inside the left frame
rail at about where the intermediate pipe bolts to the muffler.
The fuel filter is on the frame rail to the left of the transmission. There is nothing inside the fuel tank you need to worry about changing. Early C5's had a filter with 2 lines and the newer ones have a 3 line filter because the regulator and return line is incorporated into the filter.
Did you spray something on and around the fuel pump, or is that fuel leaking past the gasket?
I thought the fuel filter inside that so I opened it and the fuel started leaking out so I tightened all the bols back and posted a question here.
Thanks y'all,
I'm getting the service manual very soon so I'll wait.
