Installed DiabloSport Predator programer today. Guys, it works!
Over the past 10 or 12 years, the first mod I've always done to most of my vehicles was the Hypertech PP, or equivalent Hypertech chip for my vehicles that used chips. I've always felt after spending anywhere from $250 to $350 that all I did was pay too much money for a fan controller. There was never any power gain using the Hypertech. Definitely not so with the Predator! I swear, a 5 year old that just learned to read could use this effectively. After talking with James (RWTD) about different settings yesterday, I used his advice today when I installed it. First I did the base Predator program. This took about 7 minutes. I then took the car out for a ride. The power gain was decent across the RPM range, but nothing to wrote home about. Then I got to playing with the different timing and fuel settings. My final setting of
-2.5% fuel and +2% timing seems to be the optimal setting for my car. I also lowered each fan setting by 5 degrees. I'm sure others could go more but this worked best for me. The best way of describing it is that there is more power earlier and definitely more pulling power across the entire RPM range. By my SOTP, I would guess a 15 to 20 rwhp increase. The only other mods I have done are the Blackwing and carbon fiber power duct. I can't wait to get this car on a dyno and get some real readings, but I'd make a guess at 375 rwhp, possibly more. I've always been very skeptical about these sort of programmers, but I can say that this Predator WORKS! If you're up in the air about getting one, go for it. Besides, if you don't like it (which I highly doubt after you try it). you can always send it back for a full refund.
