personally for me, on my '00...I'm trying to squeeze every last drop with bolt-ons and I already have a great start so I'm doing it, and looking at the one in my den as I type this :D

I installed the LS6 intake and was pleased with the result: more bottom end and easier to rev on the top. I thought it was worth it.

It's an easy install.

Here's a couple tips:

When removing the OE manifold: The back 2 bolts are too tall to remove before taking off the manifold. They will stay in the manifold, but need to be held up out of the holes in the motor. Use 2 wire baggie ties to hold these bolts up and you can easily remove the manifold.

When you install the new manifold, again use the wire ties to hold the bolts in the manifold, as you seat it. Remove the ties and the bolts will fall right down and you can easily tighten them.

Hope that helps.

I put the LS6 intake on my NA '99 coupe and thought it was a good bolt on for $350. I've seen posts claiming 10 to 15 HP increases.

If you do this mod it's also a great time to check for oil in the intake passages (mine was coated with it) and do the PCV hose oil strainer mod thats well documented on the forum to keep your new intake dry.

The plastic tie trick is a very good tip for the rear two bolts (wish I had done that for my install because I struggled with it and forgot to hook up the small vacuum line that operates the HVAC doors and have to take the intake off again just to do this !!)
